Karina has completed the Bachelor of Law at Utrecht University. During her studies she worked at FNV Bondgenoten. In 2012, Karina completed her Master's degrees at Radboud University Nijmegen in civil law and criminal law. The topic of her master thesis was international child abduction from a civil law and criminal law perspective. She then worked as a lawyer at the International Child Abduction Center (IKO).

Karina has expertise in the field of family law and international private law. Since October 2014, she works as an attorney at Wybenga Advocaten. Her practice focuses on criminal law and family law. She also specializes in health law. Karina advises various healthcare institutions on legislation regarding patient rights, quality and complaints law. She also represents healthcare professionals in disciplinary matters.
