Arent Jan graduated from Utrecht University in 2004. He worked as a lawyer for over 12 years and subsequently as a legal counsel for a medium-sized accounting firm. At Wybenga Advocaten Arent Jan advises and litigates in matters concerning corporate law, including personal liability. Furthermore, he specialises in disciplinary and professional liability law (lawyers, public notaries, accountants and estate agents). Last but not least, he also advises and litigates in matters concerning maritime law.

Arent Jan completed the Grotius specialisation course in insolvency law in 2013 and in 2016 he also completed the Erasmus Academy specialisation course 'financial economics for insolvency lawyers'.
